How many applications are accepted per cohort?
Seats per course are limited. If they are taken, we will offer you a place on the next course.
When should I start my application?
You can start immediately. Submitting your documents early gets you pre-approved and onto the shortlist - and once you are on the list, your chances of being accepted are higher.
What happens after I apply?
Our team reviews each application individually. You then receive a personal pathway email with the route and pricing that fit your background - and you pick your dates and reserve your seat in the portal.
Do I need the UEFA C before taking the UEFA B?
The UEFA C is required before you can apply for the UEFA B. If you do not hold a UEFA C yet, we have pathways (Base, UEFA C, UEFA B) you can still apply for - we route you to the right starting point.
Will my UEFA B qualify me for UEFA A in countries outside Germany?
Yes. Many of the coaches have chosen to continue to do their UEFA A in countries outside Germany. A formal cross-border application process is needed, which will be explained to you by the association that hosts the UEFA A license.
Are the courses open to coaches outside Germany and the USA?
Yes. The courses are open to coaches from everywhere.
How much time will I spend in Germany?
That depends on your course format. The compact course is one stay of about 12 days (its last edition runs Fall 2026). From 2027 the training runs in two shorter weeks - a UEFA C week and a UEFA B week. You pick both dates when you reserve your seat. To start the UEFA B you need at least 6 months of coaching experience - we collect this with your application.
Do I need to speak German?
No. The international courses are taught entirely in English - instruction, materials, and the exam.
What does the fee include?
All license fees, your hotel for every in-person night, and 3 meals a day at the Landessportschule. Travel to and from Germany is not included. Your deposit is applied toward the fee - it is not an extra cost.
Do I need a visa, and do you help?
That depends on your passport - many coaches can travel to Germany visa-free for a short course. If you do need one, we provide an official TFV invitation letter and guide you through the process.
Is this a real UEFA license, valid outside Germany?
Yes. The license is issued through the German football association structures (TFV/DFB) under the UEFA Coaching Convention - recognized across all 55 UEFA member associations and widely respected beyond.
Will my UEFA / DFB B-License let me bypass U.S. Soccer license levels?
That is decided by U.S. Soccer, not by us. Under their waiver policy, experienced coaches may bypass certain U.S. Soccer license levels - for example a German "C" may map to a U.S. Soccer "C", and a "B" or above to a higher level. Check U.S. Soccer for the current terms.
If I am not accepted, will I get my deposit back?
Yes - if you pay a deposit and are not admitted, the full amount is refunded. The deposit stays refundable until your onboarding starts; from that point it is applied in full to your course fee. If an injury prevents participation before the course, your funds transfer to the next course.
If I do not pass the qualification test, will I get my course fee back?
You get the chance to retake the test.
What happens if I do not pass the exam in Germany?
You try again - you can attend any exam period (4-5 days) in Germany within the next 12 months.
I do not have the time or money to travel to Germany - is there an alternative pathway?
Yes. We offer two less time-intensive license courses from Germany, both taught in English and fully online: the German State FA TFV Diploma & License (to start your pathway from home) and the Bundesliga Diploma Workshop by 1. FC Köln. We recommend at least 1-3 years of playing or coaching experience first.
Online prerequisites
TFV Diploma & License: $495 USD. Self-paced online course issued by the Thuringian Football Association (TFV) - a regional German FA license, the first formal step on the path to UEFA C and B. Begin before or after applying.
